Our Military Combat Personnel
ACVOW is a charitable institution that recruits combat veteran volunteers to mentor, coach and assist our warriors in the transition from combat, letting them and also their loved ones to lead prosperous and rewarding lives. As many our warriors return from battle, they are met with fresh mental health problems in the form of combat stress. Without treating their combat stress, veterans our warriors find it tough to readjust to a peaceful society, having an effect on their education as well as careers. When treating PTSD , as opposed to a lot of mental health care professionals, ACVOW likes to leave out the “D”, which means the word disorder. The volunteers of ACVOW believe combat stress isn’t a disorder, but a natural reaction to a very uncommon experience.ACVOW was originally developed at the begining of 2001 to assist Vietnam veterans who were still battling with post traumatic stress, or combat stress. Its unique quality is its combat veteran volunteers who may have the unique familiarity with knowing what our warriors have experienced. Right now, many ACVOW volunteers are actually making an effort to guide and assist warriors from Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
